Buffy gets a few mentions.

Should Angel Season 4 help you vote for next President?

http://io9.com/5059252/6-science-fiction-classics-to-help-you-choose-the-next-president

A new list from io9 thinks so, It asked several political pundits what sci-fi stories are appropriate for the current presidential campaign. Jonah Goldberg of National Review Online chose "Angel" episodes that featured Jasmine, played by Gina Torres, who gave the world peace and harmony...for a price.

He says the lesson is that unity isn't all that's cracked up to be. "Unity can be useful," he says, "but it is also very, very dangerous. That's why the founders conceived of a system of divided government, after all." Other stories on the last include "Wall-E" and "The Handmaid's Tale".

(Canadian) Men You'll Love Next.

http://en.chatelaine.com/english/weekend/article.jsp?content=20080909_134328_19776&page=6

The November issue of Chatelaine online has an article about rising stars in various fields, including Tahmoh Penikett.

In the November magazine on shelves, Joss is one of nine "Men We Love":
Joss Whedon, television writer, director, producer.
Sure, Joss Whedon is renowned for creating compelling TV that revolves around strong female leads, such as Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Eliza Dushku's super-agent Echo in his anxiously awaited new show, Dollhouse (due in January). But he's not just a creator of feminist superheroes, he is a feminist superhero. In 2007, after Dua Khalil, a 17-year-old Iraqi Kurdish woman, was publicly stoned, allegedly for having a Sunni Muslim boyfriend and possibly converting to Islam, Whedon made an impassioned plea to end violence against women: "It's no longer enough to shake our heads and make concerned grimaces at the news," he wrote on the blog Whedonesque.com. "All I ask is this: Do something. Try something. Speaking out, showing up, writing a letter, a cheque, a strongly worded email. Pick a cause - there are few unworthy ones. And nudge yourself past the brink of tacit support to action." Buffy would be proud.

Official Fox site for Dollhouse.

http://www.fox.com/dollhouse/

It's a bit bare bones at the moment but there's a strangely hypnotic Flash banner. New logo as well? Oh and there's an official fansite too but that seems be in pre-launch mode.

From what I can gather, Christian is the guy being referred to in the post as the "soft-spoken and bespectacled young guy who is actually The Most Violent Man Ever". I actually want to see this now.

"A new kind of TV economics ...".

http://nymag.com/news/features/51014/

Joss "Whendon" is interviewed as part of a New York Magazine feature on trends in product placement.

One of the quotes from the article:

Asked to use a particular phone, Whedon might say yes. "If we need to talk about the wonder of that phone? I don't know." Television is a mass art, requiring compromise, pragmatism, he knows-but the line creators draw should not be about "How coolly can I do this? The most artful can be the most unethical."
