Archive Updated

Okay, added all the fic and art that was in my submissions folder. It's kind of tragic that it seems to be an update mainly of stuff from myself and Cathyrn (welcome back, dude! :D). You all should totally write more. And draw more. Then submit it. *eyeballs everyone*

In other news... ah... ugh... *flails* Oh, yeah! Check out and join the Klaus fanlisting and the spanking new Stefan fanlisting. :D

If you've got a new LJS site that needs advertising, feel free to throw me a link and I'll post it when I update or add some other news.

Missing emails

One of the main reasons I had to move the site was because the previous hosts had some ludicrously strict filters in place on incoming mail the past couple of months. So ludicrous that even LiveJournal comment notification mails failed to get past it, which beggars belief. I know of a bunch of other sites I simply couldn't get email from. They whitelisted LJ, but wouldn't turn the filtering off for my account. To do that, they wanted me to pony up the cash for a VPS account, which I couldn't afford and totally didn't need. Thus, I moved servers, because I need email that works, dammit.

So, if you've contacted me or send fic via email (the forms worked fine, so no fic loss there) in the past few months and I never replied to you, then apologies, but your mail got eaten, and I never saw it. If it's still relevant, please feel free to email me again, and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Moved Hosts

The site has been moved to a new host. I think everything is working just fine, but there's a possibility that something, somewhere is broken. If you find anything that's broken, please email me or post a comment here so I can fix it.

EDIT: NW art gallery fixed. Thanks, 9 pieces of whatever. Also, I have a feeling I should know you, but my brain is blanking on the name you posted with. Can you drop me an email if I know you and put my poor mind out of its misery, please?

LJS's site updated

Lisa has updated her website with some news. Bookwise, the first is that the Night World reprints are only days away. The second is that the new Vampire Diaries book is scheduled for publication in March next year. Dunno about you guys, but I'm not sure I can take this sudden flurry of activity. :D

Anyhow, Lisa is considering titles for the VD book, and wants her fans to let her know what we think on the matter. So, head over to her site, read what she has to say, then contact her to let her know what you think. :)

In unrelated news, I realised that I forgot to mention that I passed my driving test (FINALLY, on the 7th attempt) a couple of months back. Those of you in the UK... hide, for Red is now road-legal. ;)

Wow... ten years. :D

So, Twilight Tales hit its ten year anniversary back in March. That's a pretty long time, and while things might be quiet, at least the site still lives. :)

Anyhow, small fic/art update, not many submissions sadly. :( Come on, you guys, LJS is back! Be inspired! Even I managed to write a lengthy fic, so the rest of you have no excuse. ;)

I've added a tool that will hopefully be useful to some of you, especially those of you who like to write drabbles. The word counters are free for anyone to use, even if it's not for LJS fic. The first one is a generic word counter. The second limits you to 100 words exactly, so if you want to be really strict with yourselves, that should help. :)

Art Gallery Revamp

I'm about 75% done with the new gallery layouts. The Secret Circle, Dark Visions, Forbidden Game and Night of the Solstice galleries have been updated and uploaded. I'm halfway through the Vampire Diaries one, and then I have the Night World one left. These two are large galleries, and I've run out of steam to tackle them tonight.

The main reasons for changing the layouts are to make it easier for me when I'm updating, and also to provide more information about the pictures. Any comments and info the artists have submitted are now visible to everyone.

Now that's almost done, is there anything else anyone can think of that I need to do? Spotted any mistakes? Missing files? Rampaging badgers?

EDIT: VD gallery updated and uploaded. Just the NW gallery left.

PHPFanBase was b0rked (I assume my hosts did some tweaking), so the fanlistings stopped working. I've switched to Enthusiast, and now everying is working just fine again.
First Update of 2008

Took a while for submissions to trickle in, and then I got distracted with the excitement of LJS coming back, but I have finally updated! Yes. I need to fix the fanlistings and get the gallery in order at some point soon, but for now I'll settle for new work added. :D

I hope that LJS's return, and the publication of new work along with the re-issuing of older books will inspire you all to write more fic. ;)

Strange Fate Update: It will be published when the previous books have been re-issued following this schedule.

NW 1-3 - summer, 2008
NW 4-6 - autumn/fall, 2008
NW 7-9 - spring, 2009
NW 10 - SF - summer, 2009 (with a note from LJS that it's probably going to be the length of three books all by itself. :D)

Letter from LJS

Just passing on a message to you all from LJS. She's kind of busy right now, so may not be able to reply to emails as quickly as she has been doing, but has sent this letter to let everyone know how much she appreciates all the mail. :)

Dear readers,

I love you! I've already met many of you (through emails) and I'm so thrilled and just tickled by this experience. I'm awed and delighted, too, but most of all I'm truly humbled by the kindness of all of you who spent precious time to write to me. You can't imagine how grateful I feel and how much I appreciate what all of you have written. I hope I haven't written anything too heavy to weigh down your inboxes. If I weren't such a gabbler, me, then I wouldn't be a writer, you know? So I also thank those who responded to my response! You're angels, truly. And so from my heart: thank you, thank you, thank you!

But here's the thing. I never, ever expected to get so many loving emails. I didn't know, either, how much time it would take out of my writing-time to answer these beautiful emails. And every day instead of making progress, I just get farther and farther behind. (At first I wrote "more and more behind," but that sounds a bit...racy.) So please understand: if you don't get an email back immediately, it doesn't mean anything except that it came after I had collapsed and realized that, for many reasons, I needed a secretary. I've needed one for some time, for lots of things that have nothing to do with emails or letter writing--but the emails helped to me see that I had to get one ASAP with an emphasis on the "S." Life is much easier now that I have one.

Also, please don't think that because I haven't answered your email, I haven't read it. I do read all my emails and letters--that's why I feel as if I know you--and I love, love, love reading them. So...please, please understand, if you don't get a reply from me at once, it isn't that I've forgotten you, or that you're less important than someone else, or that that you'll never get an answer. You will. But I have to figure out how to balance the emails with the other things in my life.

Thank you, again and again!

Lisa
