The bailout is like we fell off a cliff and have all sorts of broken bones and various other injuries, so they gave the EMTs, who pushed us and are poorly trained anyway, a bunch of gauze. Those EMTs decided to use most of the gauze to wrap a few of themselves up as mummies for Halloween.

In short, $700 billion is about $3000 for each adult in America. Presuming that only half (that’s probably WAY conservative) are financially screwed in relation to the banks, that’s $6000 for each person.

When they give $19 million to a CEO, a WHOLE LOT of people, for whom the $6000 probably did a poor job of plugging the holes anyway, just lost all benefit they could’ve gotten. And that’s not going to only happen ONCE. That’s going to happen a bunch of times.

In the blink of an eye, that $700b will be gone and there will be no holes plugged.
