If I leave early enough, I'm going to try and stop by JBU to visit some professors, which is cool. Then, in January, Chris will be the one doing the traveling to come and see me in Texas! Excitement!!!

I going to the old ladies knitting group tomorrow for the first time. I totally forgot how to finish a scarf, so I'm sure one of them will show me how to finish it up. Where is Julia and Evie when I need them?

I recommend everyone go to Starbucks and get a Pumpkin Spice Latte, and while your at it, ask for the free Song of The Day cards.....these songs are 20 times better than the free Single of The Week on iTunes.

My niece, who is 6 yrs. old, knows how to properly use the word "distinguished" in a sentence. I'm very proud.

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

I went to the mall and saw Dan In Real Life with my mom this weekend. It was sooo good! Definitely a must-see. While we were killing time before the movie, I was looking for a plain, black, zip-up hoodie. I couldn't find anything. There were only hoodies with random, crappy letters and tacky graphics printed on them. Seriously, whatever happened to simplicity? I just want something that will keep me warm in the mornings at work, at least until it the store warms up. Oh well, I haven't given up.

One of my clients is an elderly lady who belongs to a knitting group that she started at her church. They meet on Thursday mornings and all they do is talk and knit. It reminds of knitting parties at JBU. I think I shall attend. Old ladies are great, and a wealth of information especially when it comes to life...I think I could use some of their knowledge.
Thursday, October 25, 2007

It's been a while, I know. I always say that, I know. But I think I've officially decided to resume Xanga. I can't promise everyday, but I can promise that I'll at least post a couple of times a week.

Let's see where to start. Well, life has been going great. After being at Apple for almost a year, I have now been promoted to Lead Creative, full-time. It's really just a big fancy term for "teacher". Never in my life would I have imagined being a teacher, but I must say that it's pretty fun! My youngest client is 10 yrs. old and my oldest client is 74 yrs. old! My clients' computer knowledge can range from being absolutely none to advanced. Everyday is a surprise...I never know what kind of questions I'm going to encounter. And everyday, without fail, I learn something new. My fellow co-workers are awesome, and basically, we're one, big happy family. When I started working at Apple, I seriously thought I would only be there for a short period of time, but now, I've become attached. I honestly don't know how long I'll be with Apple, I really love what I'm doing right now, but I'm open to whatever God has for me. If my future is with Apple, great, if not, that's cool too. I'm still able to do some freelance graphic design on the side, although, right now I'm not doing anything b/c I'm knitting 2 scarves.

That's enough about work.

Chris and I are doing great. We miss each other terribly though. If we had it our way, we'd get married tomorrow! But as much as we would like to be impetuous, we have a sneaky suspicion that our parents would be deeply unhappy with us. So, we shall wait. In the meantime, we're able to do video chats every other night, which helps mitigate our long-distance situation. Also, his parents decided that for one of his Christmas presents, they would pay for a round-trip ticket to Texas to come and see me in January! The last time we saw each other was the first of September, so yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to January!

Tonight, my dad and I are going to over to the house of my friend Ryan, and we are going to pick up his drum set and keep it for him for a few months, at least until he can get it shipped to New York. Two summers ago, I wanted to learn the drums and my dad, being the drummer that he is, would try and teach me some stuff at his band's practices. This worked out fine for the summer, but then when I went back to JBU to start my senior year, I had no venue in which to continue my studying of the drums, at least not for free. So, now that we will actually have a drum set in our house, I can pick up where I left off. I'm soooo excited!!!

I love this time of year! Monday was the first cold and rainy day we've had in Texas. As I was walking outside that day to go on my lunch break, I was just all smiles. At that point, I questioned whether or not if something is wrong with me. Here I am, smiling away when it's cold, wet and gloomy, but when it's hot and sunshiny, I'm thoroughly disappointed. Am I alone in this? Haha! I'm also looking for any good recipes that contain pumpkin. I love pretty much anything that contains pumpkin, so if anyone knows of anything good to make, send the recipes my way.

Later!

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

17 days till I go to New Jersey for a full week and spend time with my Christopher!

Below is a picture of my countdown widget:

Oh, and I didn't when the shoe contest. There were like 40 shoes entered, however, I did make it into the top 10. Maybe someday when I become affluent, I can frivolously spend my money on such things as personally designed shoes.

I also recommend the above book. Chris and I are reading it and we really like the topics it touches on. Whether you are single, in a relationship, or engaged, you'll find that it addresses the needs of all people no matter what status you are in.

I think I might resume on making more frequent xanga entries. I kinda miss it. We shall see.
Friday, July 27, 2007

I know that I hardly post on Xanga anymore, but EVERYONE should go here http://mongolianshoebbq.puma.com/ and create their very own, one-of-a kind of these:

I call my creation Retro Sky. If I wanted to buy my creation, it would
cost me $130. However, I did enter a shoe contest at the furniture
store, next door to Apple, if they choose my shoe as the winner, then
Puma will actually make my shoes and I will receive them for free!
Tomorrow night is the moment of truth. I hope I win!
Saturday, May 19, 2007

So yeah, life is cool.

- The Office season finale rocked! I felt like crying tears of joy. My boyfriend puts it great, "Jim + Pam = Jam".

- I'm seeing Spiderman tomorrow, and then me and a few of my co-workers from Apple are going to the Poor House in downtown Ft. Worth to sing karaoke.

-Also, my managers nominated me to be in-charge of Apple Camp this summer, which I'm so psyched about.

- I took my car into the mechanic 2 weeks ago to get something fixed that they broke last time it was in the shop, so, I knew that I was getting this job done for free. Welllll, while it was there overnight, it got vandalized. The vandals busted my driver's side window and stole my cd player/radio which, unbeknownst to them, the stupid thing barely worked half the time. Ha, good riddance. So, my mechanic, being the good man that he is, replaced my window, installed a brand new cd player/radio, AND fixed my car all for FREE!

- I must declare that this summer's store-bought ice cream of choice is SpongeBob Squarepants Push-Pops. Sooo incredibly good. I was in the grocery store looking for ice cream and then I saw them and I was like, "Got...to...have."

-And the song I'm listening to right now is cool. I command you to go check it out.

Tuesday, March 20, 2007

Everything is changing. But for the good.

- My dad is moving to Biloxi, Mississippi for the next 2 years to organize paint crews that will work on over 8,500 homes that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina. This could possibly be his first and last big job. So, I'm really happy for him! This also means that I will be moving in with my Aunt Carla and saving up money for the next 6-8 months. The faster I save money, the faster I get to move.

- As for Apple, I'm in transition from Mac Specialist to Creative. This is good because I don't have to really sell computers anymore. I get to focus primarily on teaching people how to use all the software that comes with their Mac.

- Two weeks ago, Chris and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary!

And, the above chick that I'm listening to rocks! The cd is only her EP, but still, the songs are amazing. I think she'll have a good career. Check out her music on iTunes, specifically, "It's You".

Tomorrow will be the first day of spring. I'm excited about:

- Flip Flops
- Cookouts
- Sno Cones
- Feeding the ducks
- and all the gorgeous prom dresses that will be displayed at the mall (even though my dressy-event days are over)

Later!

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

Chris came to Texas last weekend, and we had many adventures. We explored an upscale, yuppie grocery store called Central Market and wow, it was definitely an experience! When we went down the cereal aisle, we didn't recognize a single label on the shelf. Everything was really expensive, I definitely felt like I was in another world. After walking down the aisles, we ventured over to the produce section only to make our next discovery: a coconut. I have always wanted to try a coconut, so I bought one. It costed a $1.79.

We took it home and began the process of trying to figure out how to crack it open. Below are all the tools we used to crack it, drain it, and eat it.

The tasting of the coconut!

And the response.

Basically, real coconut is unmitigatedly disgusting. I still love things like Coconut Cream Pie and Pina Coladas, but in no way will I ever try real coconut again....unless I'm stranded on an island and it's my only source of sustenance.

This weekend I'm going to JBU to celebrate Valentine's Day with my sweetie, but for tonight, we will have a phone date. Oh, and MaryBeth, I'm staying with Esther this weekend so hopefully I'll see you around! And for everyone else, I hope you enjoyed our little coconut journey!

Later!

Thursday, January 04, 2007

Ok, so I should probably update.

The biggest news is that I am now officially an employee of Apple Computers. This means I get to continue selling computers and iPods to people who have more than enough money to buy 10,000 bicycles...with streamers. I'll admit, I love working there, mainly because I get to see people's faces light up as they carry their pretty, little iPod out of the store, or, come a way with a fine piece of machinery such as a Mac, that will hopefully improve their lives.

On an unrelated note, I think I got an ant bite on my finger. You may ask, "How on Earth did you get an ant bite in the middle of winter?". That, I have been unable to resolve. It's currently the only practical theory I have to work with. So yeah, I'm gonna go with it.

Later!
