I loved the look that Rachel Bilson wore for the launch of her Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans on Saturday at Macy’s Herald Square. Bilson has been wearing the Christian Louboutin Ariella Studded Boots out and about for some time now, but I love what she paired them with this time. Rachel Bilson is definitely someone with great taste and style. She wears items that please her and usually wears them before they become trendy. For this post, I decided to cover Fall Fashion From Rachel Bilson.

What I love about Rachel is that she mixes a lot of basic pieces with bold accessories. For this look, she started with a plain white top and black jeans. The Fab 3Q Sweater from Forever 21 and the Julie Skinny Jean from Forever 21 are great options for those on a budget. Bilson also kept her blazer simple, clean, and classic. The
Sanctuary Mademoiselle Blazer from Revolve Clothing is almost identical to hers.

With an outfit of basic colors and classic pieces, you can have a lot of fun with accessories. As stated, Rachel Bilson is a huge fan of the Christian Louboutin Ariella Studded Boots, which were available on Net-A-Porter, but are now sold out everywhere. Some great alternatives are the Report Signature Masonic Heels, the Forever 21 Hard Top Platform, and the Colin Stuart Studded Bootie. Rachel Bilson also loves bold scarves, like the Antik Batik Scarf from ShopBop. Scarves are a great accessory because you can easy add color and texture to any look. You could even tie one around the strap of your handbag if you want the color or print but wearing it around your neck doesn’t work with the layers of your outfit.

Bilson tens to keep her make up simple but stunning. Rimming your eyes with a rich black pencil liner, such as Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Liner, and smudging it a bit would be perfect. An all over highlighter product, like NARS The Multiple in Orgasm, is great for this look too. It adds a bit of color to your skin while still looking natural.

1. L.A.M.B. Layard Pump in Natural & Black. Plus, an outfit based around it consisting of a retro inspired tweed high waist skirt, a matching blazer, and a blouse with ruffles or a bow tie collar.
2. A great large leather handbag by Sabina. I love the Leather Half Moon Satchel, Leather Convertible Satchel, and the Leather 70’s Bag.
3. The Juicy Couture Plaid Riding Coat.
4. The Juicy Couture Classic Newsboy Cap in Angel.
5. Everything from the NARS Orgasm Collection that I don’t already own or want extras of (like the lip gloss).

5 things you automatically pick from the closet every morning.
1. A solid color tank top. Usually gray, light pink or navy blue. I almost always wear one underneath anything else I am wearing.
2. My Converse Chuck Taylor shoes. I will always be a sucker for Chuck’s and debate putting them on every single morning. On the weekends, I tend to go for my ballet flats.
3. A cardigan. I love cardigans and sweaters and wear them any chance I get.
4. Skinny jeans. Super dark wash, medium wash, destroyed, faded… I love my skinnies.
5. Erase Paste by Benefit Cosmetics and Lip Gloss by NARS in Orgasm. My two must-have cosmetics items.

5 things you wear to be comfy.
1. My Tall Chestnut Ugg look-a-likes.
2. Knee socks. Bonus points if they are argyle.
3. Cardigans. I pretty much live in them.
4. Skinny or straight leg jeans. When you find a pair that fits really well and is broken in, they are the most comfortable things in the world.
5. Flip flops.

I’m still in love with vintage fashions and now that it’s coming back into style again, I wish that I could get my hands on half the stuff that I used to own. Especially now that there are guides, like this great How To Wear Vintage : From Who What Wear TV one that would have helped me a great deal. + Getting to wear Ugg’s. I love my tall chestnut ones, and would love to get some crochet ones, like the ones featured here.
+ Dark vampy nail polish. I love burgundy shades the most.
+ An excuse to pull out the black liquid liner as often as possible.
+ Being able to layer as much as I like without getting weird looks. I tend to wear at least 3 layers every day (usually two tanks and a shirt). In the summer, people find this a bit odd. I see it as a chance to add some extra color and texture to a look.
+ Knee socks. I love knee socks. Especially argyle ones.
+ Slouchy boots. I didn’t pick up a pair last year and have decided that, no matter what, I will this year.
+ Scarves. Again, people look at your strange when you wear them in the summer. You can wear them every day in the fall if you like.

The TanTowel is exactly what it implies - a sunless tanner infused cloth towel that’s about the size of a baby wipe. You start with clean, dry, and exfoliated skin (just like with any other self tanner). Exfoliation is really important because that alone can determine if you end up with an even glow or streaks. TanTowel even makes a X- Foliator towel that will do the process for you. Unlike other sunless tanners, you should not moisturize before hand. This will actually have a negative effect on the TanTowel. The first TanTowel that I used was the Full Body Classic for fair to medium skin tones. The cloth was enough for me to cover my full body applying with slow, even, circular strokes. You can use it all over. Even on your face! It dried incredibly fast. This is great because it’s a pain to sit around waiting for regular sunless tanner to dry. When you have to spend more time waiting for a product to dry than applying it, it isn’t always worth the time. These would be very easy to use for everyone who doesn’t have the extra time or who simply doesn’t want to spare the extra time.

As with all sunless tanners, it takes a few hours for your full color to develop. I was so excited and nervous to see how my skin turned out! After several hours, my skin had a gorgeous and streak-free glow to it. It looks like I spent the weekend laying out by the swimming pool instead of just a few minutes with a TanTowel! In fact, the only problem I had with TanTowel was that I missed a couple of places. Thankfully, I was able to go over those areas with the Half Body Classic towel and they are now perfectly blended.

TanTowel is now my latest sunless tanning addiction. I’m so glad that I have a few more towels on hand before I’ll need to re-stock! The Classic Starter Package is very tempting. I may have to take some before and after pictures next time so that I can try to win a $300 TanTowel Shopping Spree and really stock up on their products. I think that the best thing about TanTowel is that it doesn’t contain any dyes or stains. It reacts with the proteins and amino acids in your skin to produce a great glow. This means that it won’t rub off or stain your clothing. With all the pro’s involved (quick drying time, no staining, great results) TanTowel is definitely a great product that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in a sunless tanning product.

Trendfamous : Though it’s not as active as it used to be, Trendfamous remains one of my favorite communities on LiveJournal. It’s great to browse when you’re stuck in a fashion rut and in need of some inspiration. Full of posts of pre-created outfits, similar to the ones that I post here (and ones that I have cross-posted there), it’s a place to view fashion of all kinds from all walks of life. Trendfamous may not be the most active community anymore, but it remains one of the funnest to browse.

Eyeshadow Sluts : This community is similar to Makeup Tutorials, except that all the tutorials are only for eye looks. If you are looking for tips on how to create the perfect cat eye liner, ways to wear this falls trendy purples and greys, or just looking for some color inspiration, this is the place to go. From simple and natural to outrageous or glamorous, Eyeshadow Sluts will show you how to get the look.

What are your tips and tricks for naturally gorgeous skin??

Begin with clean, moisturized skin.

Apply a pea-sized amount of Makeup Primer to the skin to extend foundation wear, ease redness, fight free radical damage, and improve skin’s clarity. NARS Makeup Primer with SPF prepares the skin for fresh-faced beauty while also providing protection from UVA and UVB rays.

Using the Concealer brush or finger, apply concealer for spot correcting or to conceal dark circles. NARS Concealer is enriched with Vitamin E to nourish the skin.

Apply foundation to the skin using fingers. Warming the product in your hands first and using your fingers to apply will allow for the most natural-looking finish. Use Balanced Foundation for a dewy finish, or Oil Free Foundation for a soft matte finish. For foundation coverage in a powder texture, apply Powder Foundation over the skin with a sponge or the Botan Brush to achieve a soft, natural balance of color. If desired, apply Powder Foundation with a sponge or the Botan Brush over a Liquid Foundation for a velvety, extra-longwearing finish to the skin.

Press Loose Powder or Pressed Powder into the skin with the puff and buff away excess powder with the Loose Powder Brush to bring natural luster to the skin. Use Pressed Powder throughout the day to refresh makeup. The Triple-Milled formula uses talc, silica, and corn starch to absorb excess oils and create a silky-smooth texture to maintain fresh-looking skin.

Warm the complexion for a healthy glow with NARS bronzer. Apply bronzer along the forehead, cheek, and jaw line using a “3″ shaped movement for natural-looking application.

The shade pictured on the model (left) reminds me a lot of the movie Amelie and how naturally gorgeous her lips were in that film. You could wear this lipstick alone or pair it with dark black eye liner for a more glam look. Personally, I love the shades Pink 318 and Orange 534. At $23.00 USD this lipstick isn’t too expensive and the quality is probably worth the money. You can find it online, at department stores, and at Sephora.
