The third episode of The Clone Wars, ‘Shadow of Malevolence,’ is on tonight. (We won’t be throwing a poll this time.) UPDATE: Writer Steve Melching talks about it.

• Watch online: Last week’s episodes, ‘Ambush’ and ‘Rising Malevolence‘ are now up on StarWars.com.

• Games: Get a peek at the lovely ladies of The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance, the Nightsisters. There’s a trailer at LucasArts.com for those of you enamored of ‘stylus-driven action.’ (Least sexy game term, or least sexy game term ever?)
• Databank: New entries on Rys, Jek, Thire and Toydarian. (Is that last one new, or just updated?)

Don’t know how I missed this one… No relation to the original, but it’s still pretty funny - if a good bit filthier. Don’t watch it at work. (via)

The internet’s favorite action figure customizer is back with a steampunk Return of the Jedi.

• Comics: StarWars.com has Dark Horse’s January 2009 solicitations, but it looks pretty slim: Just Knights of the Old Republic and the beginning of Legacy’s first post-Vector arc.

• The Force Unleashed: Sean Williams shares his piece from the Adelaide Advertiser on writing Star Wars.
• LOTF: io9 features Jacen and Jaina as one of Science Fiction’s Fiercest Sibling Rivalries.

• T-shirt: Clearly we don’t know the power of the Force. Bet it’s awesome on floors, too.

• Lists: Entertainment Weekly has Revenge of the Sith’s ”Hold me, like you did by the lake on Naboo” line as one of their 15 nominees for worst movie dialogue ever.
• Politics: io9 says Sarah Palin is Star Wars and Hillary Clinton is Star Trek. Um. No comment.
• Cute: Chipmunk menaced by action figures!

The Separatists have launched a sneak attack on Coruscant. Obi-Wan Kenobi, wounded in battle, insists that Anakin Skywalker and his rookie Padawan Ahsoka leave on a risky mission against General Grievous. But when Senator Bail Organa reveals explosive intelligence that could turn the tide of war in the Republic’s favor, the Jedi Master agrees to accompany him to an obscure planet in the Outer Rim to verify the facts. What Obi-Wan and Bail don’t realize is that they’re walking into a deadly trap concocted by Palpatine… and escape may not be an option.

The book’s street date has also changed - it’s now listed for December 9.

Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories has a few hints on how to make your own. I’m not sure if you can even get cantaloupes in the northern climes right now, but then, it doesn’t need to taste good, does it?

StarWars.com has an episode guide and preview vid (above) for the next episode, ‘Shadow of Malevolence.’ Is it just me, or did they hire the Full Life Consequences guy to do that bit in the beginning? (I’m sure it’s Pablo’s fault.)

Meanwhile, Filoni continues talking up the show, this time over at Comic Book Resources.

• Alexis Cruz, Skaara, talks about how cool it is to have been with the Stargate saga from the beginning
• Kavan Smith talks to the official site about how Lorne came to be.  (For the actors out there, Lorne is an oak and a german shepherd.)

And the official site posts a teaser for The Lost Tribe (the second part of a 2-parter featuring Daniel Jackson) that doesn’t give it all away like the SciFi promo apparently does.

There are newish Darth Malak and Young Obi-Wan paintings on her blog, as well as a gold leaf demonstration using her Padme CIV print. And check out even more of her Star Wars work at DeviantArt.

• Heroes is steadily dropping with each episode:  down 18% from the already-sluggish season premiere.  However, according to EOnline, it’s doing really well on Hulu.  (Have you people learned nothing from Stargate?  TV execs and advertisers don’t understand this whole alternative viewing thing, yet.  Watch it live if you want to keep it!)
• Sarah Connor is, according to SyFyPortal, on the verge of cancellation, but also thriving in the alternative market.
• Chuck is holding on, but has also dropped 11%. 

So let’s focus on the happy, shall we?

• Clone Wars set a new record for Cartoon Network with 4 million viewers.
• Fringe won the coveted 18-49 demographic
• And even Sanctuary drummed up strong numbers for SciFi with 2.7 million viewers.  (Although I suspect this will be another that soon bleeds off to online and DVR viewing.)
