Heartsick by Chelsea Cain REALLY IS FANTASTIC.

Is that too much capslock? I finished it on the train on my way home, and I love it. And, plus, it has my favorite: an unreliable narrator who is nevertheless totally believable and convincing.

So, seriously, I repeat: Heartsick by Chelsea Cain. It is worth the money. Or a trip to the library. Whatever floats your boat.

(And I think, from the way it ends, that it's going to be a series. !!!! I cannot wait for the next one already.)

I'm very intrigued by your recommendation. Ms. Cain has a column in our local paper that doesn't exactly recommend her as an author. I'll have to check the book out now, though, you make it sound so good!

I've never read anything else by her, and I don't know anything else about her. The book is kind of a cross between Dexter and Criminal Intent; the mystery itself is almost easy to figure it out, but it's also not the point. The writing was engaging, and it excited me to read something that wasn't half-crappy.
